Weird line on Maptech Nautical Chart?
What does the squiggly/wavy magenta colored line represent on Maptech nautical charts?
I have the Long Island Sound #1 edition 8 map. I can’t seem to determine what this weird looking line means. there is nothing about it in the legend. I’ve noticed several of them on the map in various places.
That symbol on your chart indicates an underwater (or submarine) cable.
It would be unwise to drop anchor anywhere near it.
Here’s a link showing that symbol and its meaning:

Hope this helps.
