The Benefit of the Original Gator Hook
Gator Hooks lead hooks have been used extensively throughout Australian Construction Projects for the last ten years, but now with the advent of e-commerce and international shopping. Gator hooks are spreading rapidly throughout North America, UAE and UK Construction sites.
The benefit of “The Original Gator Hook” is the ability to quickly and easily erect all worksite cables in a matter of minutes. Bechtel, America’s Largest Construction Company (by revenue) was quick to identify the time saving for site set up as well as the cost savings achieved from using the OSHA Construction Gator Hook Lead Suspension System. Bechtel recognized the savings would also be created by eliminating trip hazards and work place incidents.
Savings due to the elimination of trip hazards pay for themselves again and again. For example if you have a trip accident on site:-
- Construction stops in that area to address the accident
- Resources are expended to manage the injured person to a hospital
- A new staff member needs to be re-trained to fulfill the role of the injured worker for either a short or a long time injury
- Workers compensation may need to be paid to the employee (potentially raising workers compensation premiums)
- Additional training of all employees to avoid the accident in the future.
- Management time to ensure the process is followed through completely
- Managing press enquiries into the incident. Possible damage to your company reputation.
- Loss of confidence from the project owners in running a safe worksite
- Potential lawsuit against the Directors of the company for not providing a safe work environment.
The reality is astonishing. All of this caused because a worker did not elevate a cable.
The Gator Hook will not only assist with complying with OSHA Construction Safety Standards, it will also provide real cost savings by reducing damage to construction equipment leads and cable.
The Gator Hook (Electrical Lead Hook )elevates all cables off the ground which eliminates wear and tear on the cables from the rugged construction environment. No longer do air hoses and extension cords have to lay on the ground getting run over by wheel barrows and trodden on by tired workers.
Elevating the leads also removes the issue of leads and cables sitting in pooled water puddles or mud on the floor of the construction site.
